ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Tree of Knowledge is among the most symbolically intricate works in this series. Rather than illustrating the Tree of Eden itself, it presents a living image of human history—a tree whose branches carry memory, choice, sacrifice, and the unfolding destiny of humanity.

Within its dense foliage appear human figures, animals, and elusive symbolic forms existing on different planes of reality. They do not belong to a single narrative but coexist within a visual meditation where biblical memory merges with universal human experience. Near the centre, an elderly figure bends over a child with the tenderness of instruction, protection, or blessing, while below them a ram quietly recalls the Binding of Isaac, evoking the enduring themes of faith, obedience, and redemption.

The composition grows organically from an intricate web of ballpoint pen lines. Every stroke contributes to a sense of continual expansion, as though memory itself were taking root and branching outward through time. Touches of correction fluid do not conceal the drawing but become luminous accents, allowing light to emerge from within the densely woven surface and reinforcing the impression of revelation hidden inside complexity.

Rather than offering fixed answers, Tree of Knowledge invites contemplation. It reflects on the relationship between knowledge and wisdom, freedom and responsibility, inheritance and choice. The tree becomes more than a biblical symbol—it is a portrait of civilisation itself, reminding us that every generation adds new branches while remaining inseparable from the roots that sustain it.
